Dayrelle Coaty, also known as Fate Coaty, was killed on August 29, 2009, in his apartment in Midtown Memphis. The Memphis Police Department received a call around 10 p.m. reporting a "man down" at 109 North Belvedere. Upon arrival, officers found Coaty with severe gunshot wounds; he was taken to Regional One Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
