In the early morning hours of July 10, 2011, tragedy struck a Nashville family when 22-year-old Reginald Collier was found dead on the front porch of his mother's home on Wheelie Street. His mother, Jerrilyn Collier, made the heartbreaking discovery after being awakened by what she initially thought were fireworks. Upon opening her door, she found her son suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite his mother's attempts to render aid, Reginald succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
It was later determined that he had been shot three times in the chest. The authorities believe the shots were fired at close range.
More than a decade later, the case of Reginald Collier's murder remains unsolved, and no arrests have been made. His mother has continued to publicly plead for anyone with information to come forward, hoping to find justice for her son. The pain of her loss was compounded by the unrelated shooting death of her other son, Avery, ten years later.
