On January 17, 2012, Darryl Suggs, age 52, was killed in Memphis, Tennessee, in a case that remains unsolved to this day. Suggs was found dead as a result of a violent crime that has since been investigated by the Memphis Police Department's Cold Case Unit. The Cold Case Unit, established in 1996, is tasked with reviewing unsolved homicides, including Suggs' case, in an effort to provide justice for victims and closure to their families.
