On a Sunday evening in May of 2013, gunfire shattered the peace at the Woodbridge apartment complex on Ketchum Road in Memphis, Tennessee. When the chaos subsided, 18-year-old Brandon Chaffin, a male, was found suffering from gunshot wounds along with two other individuals. The shooting, which occurred near a common area of the complex, prompted a swift response from emergency services.
Chaffin and the two other wounded men, aged 14 and 28, were rushed by ambulance to The MED hospital.
Despite the efforts of medical staff, Chaffin was pronounced dead. A fourth victim of the shooting, 23-year-old Illya Benson, was transported to the same hospital by a private vehicle but was tragically pronounced dead upon arrival.
The incident, which took place just after 6:45 p.m., left two young men dead and two others injured.
