On September 16, 2015, Juanita Gilmore, a 25-year-old woman from Memphis, was found stabbed to death at the Hollywood Cemetery in South Memphis. Her body was discovered by a visitor to the cemetery around 11:30 a.m. The circumstances of her death pointed towards a personal nature of the attack, as it involved multiple stab wounds, which differed from a pattern of shootings linked to other cases in the area involving sex workers.
