Do you know who murdered 25 year old Jessie Roberts in 2019? In the late hours of a March night in 2019, a night that began with the joy of music and dancing, ended in unimaginable tragedy for 25-year-old Jessie Roberts. Earlier in the evening, Jessie, a female, had been at a concert with her wife and sister-in-law, reveling in the performance of one of her favorite artists. On their way home, the group decided to stop for a late-night meal at a Krystal drive-thru on North Broadway in North Knoxville, Tennessee.
As they waited in line for their food, the sound of gunshots suddenly pierced the night air. The shots, it would later be determined, originated from The Vibe nightclub, located just down the street.
In a horrifying turn of events, a stray bullet from the altercation at the nightclub struck Jessie. Chaos and panic ensued as her family, who were in the car with her, realized what had happened. They rushed to get help, but the injury was too severe. Jessie Roberts was pronounced dead on March 31, 2019. She was a devoted wife, mother to a young son named Princeton, daughter, and sister. Her sudden and senseless death left her family and the community reeling.
In the aftermath of the shooting, the investigation into Jessie's death began. The Vibe nightclub was shut down by a judge just four days after the fatal incident. Despite the authorities' efforts and the public's shock, the case has remained unsolved. Investigators have lamented the lack of cooperation from the numerous witnesses who were present at the nightclub on the night of the shooting, with only one person coming forward with information. Jessie's mother, Charlene Roberts, has made public pleas for anyone with knowledge of the crime to come forward and provide the family with some measure of closure. Tragically, the Roberts family would endure further heartbreak when Jessie's brother, Kevin, was also killed in a separate shooting incident years later. As of now, there have been no arrests, and no suspects have been publicly identified in the murder of Jessie Roberts.
