In the summer of 1977, the life of a young, 27-year-old African-American woman named Myrtle Jackson was tragically cut short in Greenville, South Carolina. On the sixteenth of July, she was discovered in her Volkswagen near 15 Spruce Street, the engine of the car still running. Ms. Jackson was slumped over in the driver's seat, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
