On July 16, 1977, 27-year-old Myrtle Jackson was found shot to death in her Volkswagen in Greenville, South Carolina. Her vehicle was discovered at or near 15 Spruce Street, with the engine still running. Jackson had been shot in the head, and investigators quickly determined that she had been killed by an unknown assailant.
