A late-night dinner for Richard Pearson and his family ended in tragedy when the 40-year-old father of four was shot and killed in front of them as he parked their car. The fatal encounter occurred shortly before 11:30 p.m. on the 1100 block of Overington Street in Philadelphia's Frankford neighborhood on or around May 14, 2009. Pearson, a male who had recently moved to the area with his family, was struck in the chest by a bullet fired by an unknown gunman who approached the vehicle.
