In the spring of 2011, a wave of gun violence was plaguing the streets of Philadelphia, and on April 21st, it tragically claimed the life of 21-year-old Jeffrey Hardee, an African-American male. Around noon on that Thursday, the sound of gunfire echoed through a South Philadelphia neighborhood. When the noise subsided, Hardee was found lying in front of a corner store on 9th Street, having been shot multiple times.
