Jose Aponte, a 34-year-old resident of Philadelphia, was shot and killed on February 19, 2014. The incident occurred at around 7:05 p.m. on the 5600 block of North Palethorp Street. Philadelphia Police responded to a crash involving a black 1992 Mazda Protege that had collided with a parked car and subsequently caught fire.
