Yusif Watson, a 22-year-old Black male, was shot on the 5900 block of Magnolia Street on Monday, February 2, 2015. The incident occurred at approximately 7:58 p.m., a time when the city was enveloped in the darkness of the night.
Responding to the scene, Philadelphia Police officers found Yusif Watson suffering from a gunshot wound. In a desperate attempt to save his life, the officers transported him in their patrol vehicle to Albert Einstein Medical Center. Despite their efforts and the medical attention he received, Yusif Watson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead that same night. At the time of his death, he resided on the 400 block of East Mechanic Street.
