In the early hours of a Friday morning, on July 31, 2015, the life of 25-year-old James Brown was tragically cut short on the 1600 block of Staub Street in North Philadelphia. A Black male, Brown was discovered lying in the street at approximately 1:33 a.m. by Philadelphia Police officers who were responding to a call about a person with a gun in the area.
