On the evening of Wednesday, October 19, 2016, a 21-year-old Black male named Quaron Highsmith was fatally shot in Philadelphia. The incident occurred at approximately 6:33 p.m. on the 3500 block of Wallace Street. Philadelphia Police officers responded to the scene and discovered Highsmith lying in the street with gunshot wounds to his shoulder and the lower left side of his back.
Highsmith, a resident of the 200 block of North Robinson Street, was transported to Penn Presbyterian
Medical Center for treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead later that evening.
The Philadelphia Police Department is actively investigating the homicide of Quaron Highsmith. To date, no arrests have been made in connection with his death, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The case remains an unsolved murder, and authorities continue to seek information from the public that may lead to a breakthrough in the investigation.
