On May 28, 1986, Daniel Lester McDaniel, a 34-year-old man, was found dead on the sidewalk in the 600 block of NW 14th Street in Portland, Oregon. A passing motorist noticed his body, along with blood nearby, and quickly alerted authorities. Upon investigation, it was discovered that McDaniel had died from a gunshot wound.
