Man stabbed to death after crashing his car
On the evening of August 24, 2001, a tragic event unfolded in Salem, Oregon, that would end the life of 22-year-old Bricio Munoz-Aguirre. That night, Munoz-Aguirre was discovered inside his black 1988 Chevrolet Corsica, which had crashed over a curb in the vicinity of Winema Place and Lancaster Drive NE. He was suffering from a single, fatal stab wound to his chest.
Emergency services were called to the scene, and Munoz-Aguirre was quickly transported to Salem Hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he ultimately succumbed to his injury and was pronounced dead. At the time of his death, he was an employee at Action Wood Products in the nearby town of Turner.
Investigators with the Marion County Sheriff's Office launched a homicide investigation into Munoz-Aguirre's death. They believe that the stabbing did not occur at the location where his vehicle was found, but rather at another place in the general area. It is thought that Munoz-Aguirre was attempting to drive himself to get help when he crashed his car. Authorities have speculated that the weapon used was a single-edged knife with a blade approximately six to seven inches long.
Despite their efforts, the case of Bricio Munoz-Aguirre's death remains an unsolved homicide. Law enforcement has periodically sought assistance from the public in the years following the incident, hoping for any information that might lead to a breakthrough in the case. To date, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with his death.
