On that fateful Monday morning, Patricia was getting ready for work when she was ambushed inside her own home. When she failed to arrive for her shift, her concerned colleagues contacted her mother. Jimmie, sensing something was gravely wrong, rushed to her daughter's apartment. There, she made the horrific discovery of Patricia's body. The scene within the apartment spoke of a violent and desperate struggle, particularly in the bedroom. There were no signs of forced entry, leaving investigators to ponder how her attacker gained access. An autopsy would later reveal that Patricia died from blunt force trauma to the head and had also sustained several superficial stab wounds.
