On April 20, 2013, the body of 22-year-old Karen De Leon was discovered near Lake Overholser in Oklahoma City by volunteers picking up trash. De Leon had been reported missing by her mother two weeks earlier on April 6. The cause of her death was initially unclear, but police later classified it as a homicide.
