On December 18, 2016, Ronald Massengale, 72, was shot and killed by police officers in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The incident began when police responded to a call at Massengale's home near Charles Page Boulevard and South 49th West Avenue. Upon arrival, Massengale came out of his home pointing a gun at the officers, which prompted Officer Steve Dickson to fire, fatally wounding him.
