On March 18, 1981, Edward L. Highley, a 21-year-old, was tragically killed in a robbery at his workplace, the Clark Oil Station on Diagonal Road in Akron, Ohio. While he was working at the gas station, an assailant entered with the intent to rob the establishment, and during the crime, Highley was fatally shot. Local law enforcement responded, but the case remains unsolved despite ongoing efforts and appeals for information.
