On June 6, 2008, Germane Harris, a 33-year-old resident of San Francisco, California, was shot and killed in the early hours while walking to his car after his shift as a security guard at the "Holy Cow" bar. The incident occurred on the 1600 block of Harrison Street. Harris was reportedly walking a few blocks to reach his vehicle when a silver Volkswagen Jetta approached, and multiple shots were fired at him. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
