On August 4, 1988, Fred Kelly, a 53-year-old man, was fatally shot in Columbus, Ohio. The incident occurred at 484 Seymour Avenue, and Kelly suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach. He was transported to St. Anthony's Hospital, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
The Columbus Police Department has been handling the investigation of this case, but it remains unsolved to this day.
Despite years having passed, Fred Kelly's homicide remains part of the Ohio Attorney General's cold case database, which is intended to keep these cases visible in the public eye in hopes of generating new leads or tips that could help resolve them. Authorities are still encouraging anyone with information to come forward to aid in solving this case and to bring justice for Kelly and his family.
