On August 28, 2008, Sheldon Johnson, a 41-year-old African American man from Antioch, California, was tragically shot and killed in East Oakland. His body was discovered outside a nightclub located on the 10400 block of MacArthur Boulevard around 1:20 a.m. Johnson had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. This incident marked Oakland's 91st homicide of that year.
