On July 23, 1997, the Fostoria Police Department was advised by a male subject that he had witnessed a shooting on Switzer Road north of Fostoria. The Wood County Sheriff's Office responded and found the body of 32 year old Calvin Strong lying in the front seat of his vehicle having been shot to death.
