On August 27, 2002, Mary Matheny, aged 75, was last seen outside her home on Lehner Road in Clinton Township, Ohio. On that evening, Mary was engaged in gardening, a routine activity for her, when she was attacked by an unknown assailant. Her body was discovered inside her home the following day, on August 28.
