On August 27, 2002, Mary Matheny, aged 75, was last seen outside her home on Lehner Road in Clinton Township, Ohio. On that evening, Mary was engaged in gardening, a routine activity for her, when she was attacked by an unknown assailant. Her body was discovered inside her home the following day, on August 28. The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma, but the motive for the attack remains unclear.
