On July 4, 2005, Robert Knisley, a 34-year-old resident of Junction City, Ohio, attended Fourth of July festivities, including a private party in the area. After leaving the celebrations, Knisley was later found lying in the middle of State Route 668, north of State Route 37 in Perry County. The circumstances surrounding his death remain mysterious, and investigators reported that he appeared to have been either severely beaten or possibly struck by a vehicle.
