On March 30, 2012, Willie Brewer III, a 17-year-old from Akron, Ohio, was fatally shot in front of a convenience store called Mr. Pantry, located on Copley Road. The shooting occurred in the afternoon around 3:30 p.m., and Brewer was found at the scene with life-threatening injuries. Despite prompt emergency responses, he succumbed to his injuries.
