Jermaine Hill, aged 35, was found dead on December 16, 2012, in a vacant house in Columbus, Ohio. He had been shot, and his body was discovered in the early hours of that Sunday morning. The homicide added to the rising violence in Columbus that year, as Hill’s death was one of the 88 homicides recorded in 2012.
Hill was known to have connections with drug activities, as he was described by prosecutors as a Georgia drug dealer.
Clemon Parham, a Columbus resident, was later implicated in a series of violent crimes around that time, including the slaying of Hill. However, during a trial in 2016, Parham was found not guilty of Hill's death, although he was convicted of another unrelated homicide. Prosecutors alleged that financial disputes involving over $100,000 could have been a motive behind these crimes. Despite Parham’s acquittal regarding Hill's death, authorities have continued to pursue other leads, but no other individuals have been convicted for Hill's homicide at this point.
The Columbus Division of Police is still seeking any information that may help bring closure to this case. The authorities have made appeals to the community for any tips that could assist in furthering the investigation and identifying those responsible for Hill's untimely death.
