On March 27, 2017, Corey La-Paul Brown, a 29-year-old resident of Columbus, Ohio, was shot and killed outside a Waffle House located on North Cassady Avenue. At approximately 2:46 a.m., police responded to reports of gunfire in the parking lot. When they arrived, they found Corey unresponsive, suffering from a gunshot wound.
