A woman legs were found in a trash can Candice Aliciea Taylor, a 21-year-old Black female, was reported missing in March 2017 by her mother, Theodora Taylor. Candice was known for her loving and humorous personality, and she had aspirations of becoming a fashion designer in New York. At the time of her disappearance, she was living in a southeast Columbus apartment with her boyfriend and working multiple jobs.
Her mother became concerned when Candice, who was typically in frequent contact with her family, suddenly stopped responding to messages and calls. Shortly after her disappearance, Candice’s Facebook page was deleted, and a new account under her name appeared, sending messages to her mother claiming she was pregnant and moving away. Theodora found these messages suspicious, as they did not match Candice’s usual way of speaking.
On March 28, 2017, police were called to the area of 1300 South Columbus Airport Road after human remains were discovered in the trash. The remains consisted of two human legs, estimated to belong to a female in her thirties, between 5'3" and 5'11.5" in height. A brown fur boot, size 10, was also found with the remains. These remains were later identified as belonging to Candice Taylor. The gruesome discovery confirmed her death, but many questions remained unanswered.
Despite extensive investigations, no arrests have been made in connection with Candice Taylor’s death. Her mother continues to search for answers, holding onto hope that justice will be served. The case remains unsolved, and authorities encourage anyone with information to come forward. Candice’s family and loved ones continue to mourn her loss, remembering her as a vibrant young woman with dreams and a deep love for her family.
