A robbery turns deadly for 2 men
On November 19, 1997, James "Jamie" Lucas Smith IV, 19, and his coworker, John Phillip Mattmiller, were brutally murdered during a robbery at the Woodson Music & Pawn shop in Havelock, North Carolina. The two men were found bound and beaten to death by police officers who discovered the shop's back door open during routine checks. The perpetrators stole handguns and $30,000 in jewelry.
