Case Description

Any updates on this case? Let us know!
On August 20, 2012, in the jurisdiction of the Los Angeles Police Department Foothill Division, 23-year-old Jasmin Campos, a Hispanic/Latina woman, died after being strangled. The Los Angeles Times Homicide Report lists her death date, age, race/ethnicity, cause of death and identifies LAPD Foothill as the investigating agency.

Very little public information about Campos's life or the circumstances surrounding her death appears in the accessible records; the Homicide Report entry provides the basic case facts but no narrative details about where she was found, her family, occupation or any suspect description. Aside from the Homicide Report record, I located the LAPD Foothill station contact page but did not find a police press release, arrest notice, court filing, obituary or other news story that adds factual detail about the investigation or an identified suspect.

Because the available public record accessed for this synopsis contains only the Homicide Report entry and the Foothill station contact information, there is no evidence in those sources that the case was solved, that anyone was arrested or charged, or that an official closure was announced. At present the death remains listed in public homicide archives with LAPD Foothill as the investigating agency and no publicly posted resolution.
