On July 18, 2008, 23-year-old Carrie "Nook" Denise Watkins was tragically killed in a drive-by shooting in Durham, North Carolina. The incident occurred just before 11 p.m. while Watkins was standing outside 503 Bruce Street, near Angier Avenue.
