Cynthia "Cindy" Kirk, a 34-year-old mother, was tragically killed on August 21, 1989, in Durham, North Carolina. Kirk was found fatally stabbed outside her home on Constitution Drive, in a quiet neighborhood near Duke University. On that fateful afternoon, she was preparing to leave for work, loading her car while her 2-year-old daughter was sleeping inside. According to investigators, she was attacked and stabbed multiple times in her driveway before collapsing near the door to her home.
