Deven Wheat Jr., a 27-year-old man from Cleveland, died on August 20, 2026, after a violent sequence of events on the city's east side that investigators believe began with a shooting and ended in a catastrophic traffic collision. The incident unfolded during the early evening near East 55th Street and Cedar Avenue, where Wheat was driving a Lincoln Town Car northbound on East 55th Street.
