In the summer of 2026, the small community of Denmark, Tennessee, was rocked by a tragic event that claimed the life of 36-year-old Garrion Duke Greer. On the evening of July 19th, what was meant to be a gathering at Savannah Williamson Community Park turned into a scene of chaos and violence. Gunfire erupted during a party, and in the aftermath, Greer, along with 19-year-old Jamarion Burns and another individual named Jeremiah Forbis, lay dead. In total, approximately 12 people were either killed or injured in the mass shooting. Greer, known to his loved ones as "Duke," was a father of two.
The Madison County Sheriff's Office immediately launched an extensive investigation into the triple homicide. Investigators began to piece together the events of that fatal night, relying on witness interviews, forensic evidence, and surveillance video. Their work revealed a grim picture of a shootout involving multiple individuals. According to authorities, a silver Honda Accord and a white Nissan Altima were seen on a road near the park just before the shooting began. It is alleged that occupants of the Honda Accord opened fire into the crowd at the park, and individuals at the party returned fire. This exchange of gunfire created a terrifying situation for all who were present.
In the days that followed, the investigation, with assistance from the Jackson Police Department, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the FBI, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, led to significant breakthroughs. Four suspects were identified and taken into custody. Rodney Parker, 21, of Medon, was identified as the driver of the Nissan Altima. Roshod Parker, 19, also from Medon, was identified as a passenger in the Honda Accord. Ladarius Grimes, 21, of Jackson, was identified as the driver of the Honda Accord, and Tomorris Person, 18, of Jackson, was a passenger in the same vehicle. All four individuals were charged with three counts of felony murder in the perpetration of attempted first-degree murder. The investigation remains active, with the possibility of additional arrests and charges as law enforcement continues to seek justice for the victims of the Savannah Williamson Park shooting.
