On August 2, 2013, 49-year-old Sacore Gray was found shot to death in her bedroom in her west Charlotte home. At the time of the murder, her 5-year-old niece was also present in the house but was unharmed. Gray, a caregiver, had no criminal history, leaving investigators puzzled about the motive behind her murder. Family members discovered her body, and although there were initial concerns in the community, no clear leads or arrests have been made.
