On a quiet Saturday evening in Gaston, Oregon, the life of 42-year-old Christopher Serafin was tragically cut short. On June 20, 2026, emergency services received multiple 9-1-1 calls around 9:15 p.m. reporting a shooting on Vista Ridge Court. When police and sheriff's deputies arrived at the scene, they found Christopher Serafin with a fatal gunshot wound. Despite the immediate medical aid provided by neighbors and first responders, Serafin succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The events leading up to the fatal shooting unfolded at a barbecue, which was described by a neighbor as a "going away party." Witnesses reported that an altercation broke out between Serafin and another man, 48-year-old Christopher Kenneth Maller of Beaverton.
