A girl's remains are found after she was last seen walking home with groceries
On April 3, 1973, the body of 11-year-old Wanda Lee Walkowicz was found near a rest stop along Route 104 in Webster, New York, following her disappearance the day before. On April 2, she had been sent by her mother to a local grocery store on Conkey Avenue in Rochester. Witnesses saw Wanda walking home with groceries around 5:30 p.m., but she never made it back. Reports indicated that a man in a beige or tan car had been seen slowly following her along the street.
