In the quiet mountain community of Evergreen, Colorado, a somber discovery was made on March 31, 2026. Corinne Wallen, a 45-year-old woman, was found deceased inside a blue Toyota RAV4 parked along Highway 103. Alongside her was 47-year-old Joshua Young. Both individuals were from Missouri and appeared to have been traveling across the country, with no known connections to the local area.
A passerby, who had noticed the vehicle parked in the same spot for at least two days, decided to
investigate and, upon looking inside, immediately contacted the authorities. When Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies arrived at the scene near the border of Jefferson and Clear Creek counties, they found both Wallen and Young with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the head.
Inside the vehicle, investigators discovered a gun, which is believed to be the weapon used in the incident. Also found on the dashboard were several notes written by the couple. The contents of these notes have not been publicly disclosed. At present, there is no indication of any other individuals being involved, and authorities have stated that there was never a threat to the public. The final determination on the cause of death will be made by the coroner's office following autopsies. No arrests have been made, and there are no outstanding suspects in connection with the deaths of Corinne Wallen and Joshua Young.
