In the late afternoon of April 20, 2026, a dispute at a gas station in Grand Bay, Alabama, escalated into a fatal shooting, claiming the life of 27-year-old Dylan Meheen. The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. at the Chevron gas station located off Ramsay Road and Highway 90. Meheen, a father of four, was at a gas pump when two other men in a separate vehicle pulled up.
An argument ensued between Meheen and the individuals in the other car.
According to investigators, Meheen, who was unarmed, approached the suspects' vehicle during the argument. After he walked away, one of the suspects, identified as 20-year-old Brendan Pierce, allegedly opened fire. Meheen was struck multiple times and died at the scene. His cousin later stated that he had been shot in the back seven times. The Mobile County Sheriff's Office reported that all three individuals involved knew each other.
Following the shooting, both suspects were detained by law enforcement. Brendan Pierce was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of murder in connection with Dylan Meheen's death. Meheen's family, who described him as a loving and funny person, was left devastated by the sudden and violent loss. His cousin organized a fundraiser to help with funeral costs and to provide support for his four children, the youngest of whom was only seven months old at the time of his father's death.
