In the early hours of Sunday, April 26, 2026, a night out tragically ended in the death of 34-year-old Jessica Lynn Hilliard of Apollo, Pennsylvania. The incident, which also left three others with gunshot wounds, unfolded in the parking lot of Niki's Quick Six, a bar in Parks Township, just across the Kiski River from Vandergrift.
The events leading to the fatal shooting began with a verbal altercation between the fiancée of David James Dunmire, 36, of Vandergrift, and another woman in
the parking lot. This initial dispute escalated when the woman went back into the bar and stated she had been "jumped," prompting several patrons to exit the establishment and enter the parking lot. A physical fight then broke out.
Jessica Hilliard, along with the bar's bartender, Rebecca Boston, and two other men, Hector Saballos and Dominik Dellach, were among the bystanders who attempted to intervene and de-escalate the situation. As the physical altercation was coming to an end, Dunmire allegedly brandished a 9mm handgun.
Authorities state that Dunmire first shot Rebecca Boston. As Saballos and Dellach fled, he shot and wounded both of them. Dunmire is then said to have returned to the area where the initial fight had occurred and shot Jessica Hilliard multiple times in the chest. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
When law enforcement arrived at approximately 1:16 a.m., they discovered Hilliard deceased and Boston critically injured. Saballos and Dellach had already left the scene and were later located at a hospital in stable condition. David Dunmire remained at the scene and was taken into custody without incident. He has since been charged with one count of homicide, three counts of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and recklessly endangering another person. The Armstrong County District Attorney's Office has approved the criminal homicide charge, and the investigation is ongoing.
