In the early morning hours of Sunday, March 29, 2026, what should have been a night of celebration turned into a scene of tragedy in Blue Mountain, Mississippi. A gathering, reportedly an after-prom party, was shattered by gunfire, leaving two brothers dead. One of the victims was 27-year-old Jerrious Hunt of Michigan City, Mississippi. He, along with his 24-year-old brother, Jertavious Hunt, was fatally shot at a residence in the Blue Mountain area.
The violence that cut short the lives
of the two brothers prompted a swift law enforcement response. The investigation into the double homicide led to the arrest of a suspect. Kylen Clark, a 17-year-old, was taken into custody in connection with the fatal shootings.
Following the investigation, authorities have charged Kylen Clark with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Jerrious and Jertavious Hunt. The community was left to mourn the loss of the two young men as the legal process against the accused began. Funeral services for both brothers were scheduled to take place in the days that followed the incident.
