On the evening of Saturday, February 28, 2026, a 55-year-old Latino man named Gabriel Miranda was fatally shot on a public sidewalk in an unincorporated area of East Los Angeles. The incident occurred just after 7:45 p.m. in the 3900 block of East Cesar Chavez Avenue, near Belvedere Middle School.

Authorities from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene and discovered Miranda deceased. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner later confirmed that he died from two ...
