In the quiet neighborhood of Reseda, California, the life of a young man was cut short on the evening of Friday, March 6, 2026. Christian Mbachu, a 23-year-old Black male from Arleta, was found with multiple gunshot wounds at the entryway of an apartment building in the 6800 block of Baird Avenue. The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call of a shooting at approximately 8:00 p.m. and discovered Mbachu at the scene. The Los Angeles County medical examiner's office later confirmed the cause of death as multiple gunshot wounds and the manner as homicide. Mbachu was described as being 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. His Nigerian surname was noted in a report from the coroner's office. While his family grieved this sudden and violent loss, some reports mentioned that Mbachu had an extensive criminal history, with numerous arrests in the preceding three years for various alleged offenses. In the wake of his death, his girlfriend created a GoFundMe page to assist his family with funeral expenses.
