In the quiet community of Talbott, Tennessee, the life of 16-year-old Jayden Andrew Bullard was tragically cut short on Sunday, January 4, 2026. The teenager was one of two young men who lost their lives in a shooting that erupted during a party at an Airbnb rental on Old Poplar Road. The other victim was identified as 19-year-old Marsalous Tre-Dante "Sal" Vestal.
Two other individuals were also wounded in the incident but sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The gathering, attended by approximately 30 people, predominantly juveniles, was shattered by the sound of gunshots, causing chaos as attendees scattered. Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from what Hamblen County Sheriff Chad Mullins described as "some past juvenile drama." The attendees were reportedly from the surrounding area, with some traveling from as far as McMinn and Monroe counties.
In the wake of the deadly shooting, an investigation was launched by the Hamblen County Sheriff's Office with assistance from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Their efforts led to the apprehension of two suspects who were arrested at a motel in Pigeon Forge. Eighteen-year-old Adam Perez Jr. faces two counts of second-degree murder, while 19-year-old Talon Trevathan has been charged with being a party to second-degree murder.
