On the early morning of November 28, 2025, 29-year-old male Mark Markquez was fatally shot in a parking lot in southwest Houston, Texas. The incident occurred around 4:45 a.m. at 11107 South Post Oak Road, where Markquez and a 30-year-old female companion were leaving an establishment. According to reports from the Houston Police Department, the pair was approached by two unidentified individuals while they were in the parking area.
A short verbal altercation ensued between Markquez and
the suspects before the situation escalated into violence. The suspects opened fire, striking Markquez and the female victim. After the shooting, the assailants fled the scene. Paramedics from the Houston Fire Department responded to the emergency and transported both victims to a nearby hospital. Markquez was pronounced deceased by doctors upon arrival, while the female victim, identified in some reports as his sister, was treated for her injuries and was expected to recover.
Homicide detectives described the suspects as two black males wearing dark clothing. As of early December 2025, no arrests had been reported, and the motive for the confrontation remained under investigation. Authorities urged anyone with information regarding the case to contact the HPD Homicide Division or Crime Stoppers.
