On the evening of December 12, 2025, a violent incident unfolded in Springfield Township, Ohio, claiming the life of 21-year-old Tanaro Pounds. Around 7:46 p.m., deputies from the Lucas County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the Oakwood Garden Apartments, located in the 6900 block of Oakfield Drive, following reports of gunfire and a subsequent vehicle crash. Upon arrival at the scene, investigators discovered Pounds inside a vehicle, suffering from critical injuries sustained during the shooting.
Emergency responders transported the wounded man to the University of Toledo Medical Center for urgent treatment. Despite medical intervention, Pounds succumbed to his injuries later that night. An autopsy performed by the Lucas County Coroner's Office confirmed that he had died from multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was officially ruled a homicide. In the immediate aftermath, witnesses reported seeing a maroon SUV fleeing the apartment complex, and detectives recovered multiple shell casings from the parking lot as they began to piece together the events leading up to the tragedy.
Law enforcement officials quickly identified a suspect in connection with the homicide. By the weekend, 20-year-old Jordan Graves had turned himself in to authorities. Following his surrender, a grand jury indicted Graves on several serious felony charges, including aggravated murder, murder, aggravated robbery, and felonious assault. He was scheduled for arraignment in Sylvania Municipal Court on December 22, 2025, as prosecutors moved forward with the case against him.
