On the evening of December 19, 2025, authorities in Aiken County, South Carolina, launched a homicide investigation following a fatal shooting incident in Beech Island. The victim was identified as 30-year-old Demarcus
Crawford of Beech Island. First responders and deputies attempted immediate life-saving measures at the scene before he was transported to Wellstar MCG Health in Augusta, Georgia, for emergency treatment. Despite these efforts, he was pronounced dead at the hospital at 8:01 p.m. The Aiken County Coroner’s Office subsequently announced that an autopsy would be conducted in Newberry to determine the official cause and manner of death.
