In the quiet community of Pasadena, Maryland, a tragic event unfolded on November 16, 2025, ending the life of 54-year-old Jeanna Hayes. On that Sunday afternoon, at approximately 1:55 p.m., Anne Arundel County Police responded to a distressing 911 call from a residence on Twickenham Road. Inside the home, they discovered Jeanna and her 56-year-old husband, William 'Charlie' Hayes, both suffering from fatal gunshot wounds.
First responders pronounced the couple deceased at the scene.
The investigation into the double homicide quickly pointed to a suspect known to the victims. Authorities identified 61-year-old Anthony Louis Reyes of Nottingham, Maryland, as the alleged shooter. The basis for his identification came from information provided in the 911 call initiated by Jeanna Hayes. In the recording, she can reportedly be heard pleading with someone named 'Tony' not to shoot, amidst an argument about money involving her husband, 'Charlie'. The call captured the sound of multiple gunshots before the line went silent. Investigators believe the motive for the killings stemmed from a financial dispute connected to the Hayes' home improvement business, which they operated out of their house. Reyes had both a personal and business relationship with the couple.
Later that same day, at around 6:27 p.m., police located Reyes' vehicle with the assistance of an automated license plate reader. When officers attempted to pull him over, Reyes fled, leading to a police pursuit that ended near Interstate 97 and Quarterfield Road in Severn. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle, during which both Reyes and an officer sustained injuries. Anthony Louis Reyes was subsequently arrested and charged with first and second-degree murder in connection with the deaths of Jeanna and William Hayes.
