In a tragic turn of events on a Thursday afternoon in Hialeah, Florida, 48-year-old Aileen Delgado de Armas was killed in what police are describing as a murder-suicide. The incident, which unfolded on November 6, 2025, took place at the Lago Grande apartment complex. Aileen Delgado de Armas, a woman of Cuban origin, was fatally shot by her 60-year-old husband, Alberto Cardenas Casillas, who then took his own life.
The couple was reportedly in the process of a divorce, and on that
fateful day, Delgado de Armas had gone to the apartment they once shared to gather her belongings. She was accompanied by her mother, Rocio Delgado. The situation escalated tragically when Casillas opened fire, killing his wife and injuring his mother-in-law before turning the gun on himself. First responders arrived at the scene to find a grim situation within the first-floor apartment. Delgado de Armas and Casillas were pronounced dead at the scene, while Rocio Delgado was airlifted to a local hospital in critical condition.
Neighbors expressed their shock and sorrow over the violent incident that shattered the peace of their community. Friends and neighbors revealed that Aileen Delgado de Armas was a cancer survivor who was still recovering from a major operation and undergoing chemotherapy.
